hernia is the abnormal exit of tissue or an organ, such as the bowel, through the wall of the cavity in which it normally resides. It is common problem; it causes a localized bulge in the abdomen or groin. It can often be harmless and pain-free, but at times it can bring discomfort and pain. There is no obvious reason for the occurrence. It increases with age and occurs more commonly in men than in women. Groin hernias occur more often on the right than left side.
